What is FENG SHUI?
Feng Shui- this translates into English as wind & water. It uses the forces of nature-ebb & flow of tides and wind currents-so they work for you.
Chi in the body.
Everyone has an energy field moving through and around his or her body. In China this is called Chi, which is a subtle flow of electromagnetic energy that carries your Emotions, Thoughts and Beliefs. So if you are feeling excited you will send an excited Chi energy through your body. This also applies to if you are feeling sad or depressed this to will flow through your body and others will sense this.
Th Chi energy around you.
Th Chi energy field extends beyond the skin by about 10cm-1m (4-40in), depending on the current state of both your physical & emotional being. Someone in a rage will find there chi energy field extends further than when they are feeling depressed. This external energy field is called your aura and can be photographed by a process called Kirilian Photography. It is this part of your chi energy that is most easily influenced by the atmosphere around you.
Orienate Your Home.
To help you orienate your home, observe the movement of the sun throughout the day, making notes of where it comes into your home and at what time. You will need to work on a normal summertime schedule.
At Sunrise, make a note of the time where the sun enters your home. This will be the east. Next Calculate the time halfway between sunrise and midday. For example, if sunrise is at 6:00a.m., then half way will be 9:00a.m. At this time the sun will be in the south-east. Observe how the south-eastern sun comes into your home and make notes. At midday the sun will be at its highest point in the sky and to the south. In the winter it will be easier to see this. Calculate halfway between midday and sunset, which will be when the sun is in the south-west. Watch the sun as it descends through the sky until sunset. Again, make a note of the time and where the sun comes into your home. This will be the west. (I know all of this sounds confusing, it did to me also but you will get the hang of it just like i did. Note, it helped me to pick up a watch at Wal-Mart the had a small compass attatched to it, you will see as we go along how handy this will come into you and your new decorating style.) The remaining directions, where you will not see the sun, are opposite to the directions you have observed. So north-west will be opposite south-west, north opposite south and north-east opposite south-west.
A feel for SUCCESS.
Each room will have a unique atmosphere of its own. The idea is to create an atmosphere that You can Suceed in.
